For a limited time, ending on March 31, 2015 at 11:59pm EDT (New York time), you have the opportunity to invest in Black Daughter and get in on the proverbial "ground floor." This is not a crowdfunding campaign; rather, this is a one-time chance to share equity in a new band and help drive significant change throughout the Music Industry. Your money doesn't get you an exclusive sneak peek at album art, a free t-shirt, or a limited-edition poster. You gain much more: equity in the band itself. You become a partner in the Black Daughter enterprise; you get a share of the proceeds the band makes; and, much like a tech company with an equity partnership, you get a vote in the enterprise's business dealings and approach.
HOW IT WORKS
The investment amount begins at $1,000. You may invest as much money as you'd like. The collective money raised by the investor pool (the sum of all investment money associated with this opportunity) will entitle the investors to a certain percentage of the band's net earnings in perpetuity, based on the amount of money raised. Each individual investor will be assigned an equity stake within this pool based on his or her investment as a share of the sum of all funds associated with this opportunity. The cumulative equity shares assigned to the investor pool will be set at:
1% if $1,000-$49,999 is raised by the deadline
5% if $50,000-$149,999 is raised by the deadline
10% if $150,000-$249,999 is raised by the deadline
15% if more than $250,000 is raised by the deadline
If the sum of all investment is $200,000, a 10% equity pool is created, such that the investor pool will receive 10% of the band's net earnings. If one of the participating investors, John Smith, has invested $10,000, his investment (5% of $200,000) entitles John to .5% of the band's net earnings. After the investment round has closed on March 31, 2015 at 11:59pm EDT (New York time), these allocations will be made based on the collective money raised, and all investors will be notified of their equity stakes within two weeks of the round's closing.
